We have an opening with a well-established organization that supports essential services within the community. This team offers a stable environment, strong leadership, and the opportunity to guide operations, strategy, and long-term planning. They are seeking an experienced professional who is organized, decisive, and comfortable leading teams while managing operational and regulatory responsibilities.

This role works closely with the Board of Directors to oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the long-term performance of the organization. The District Manager plays a key role in guiding operational priorities, financial planning, and organizational leadership.


What You’ll Do:

  •  Oversee district operations, personnel, facilities, and programs to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Develop and implement policies, goals, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage budgeting, financial planning, controls, and reporting
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, attorneys, and financial advisors
  • Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and budgets to the Board of Directors
  • Approve contracts, personnel actions, and operational decisions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including water quality requirements
  • Direct maintenance planning, operations strategies, and capital improvement initiatives
  • Oversee customer relations and resolve complex issues
  • Lead emergency preparedness, crisis response, and operational continuity planning
  • Supervise management and administrative personnel and support staff development 

What We’re Looking For:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in utility management or public works
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong leadership, management, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience with project management, budgeting, and financial oversight
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to interpret regulations, policies, contracts, and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business technology
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to obtain required Water Operator Certification B within one year
  • Ability to work in office and operational environments, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed
